ZONTE'S FOOTSTEP "Baron Von Nemesis" - Barossa - Shiraz-Australia

ZONTE'S FOOTSTEP "Baron Von Nemesis" - Barossa - Shiraz-Australia-2018

A fine wine with great texture and richness. Milk and dark chocolate, blackberries and plenty of chewy tannins. Bright medium clear black garnet color. Bright, fruity, floral spicy aromas of dried fruits and soda bread pastry with a dry fruity medium-full body and a peppery, medium-long tart berries, peppery spices, and nuts finish with fruit and a well-integrated moderate oak. A well structured shiraz with real aging potential.

Zonte's Footstep is a proudly independent Australian wine company. We take our vineyards and our wine, but not ourselves, seriously. In 2003, we pooled old white utes and new-ish tractors to grow the best grapes from the best vineyards and the wines are now at the vanguard of a revolution of Australian wine styles. A couple of wine scribes recently noted: "The critically acclaimed Zonte's Footstep wines are not ‘old world', nor even ‘new world', Zonte's is out of this world!" and "Zonte's Footstep; Jump on board this fabulously priced wine and enjoy one of the best value wines in the Southern Hemisphere" (Matthew Jukes). James Halliday named us a Five Star Winery in his 2015 edition of Australian Wine Companion, something we are also very proud of. Zonte's Footstep is named after a 19th century Zante currant vineyard, as new plantings follow the original footstep. The currant business dried up, but Zonte's Footstep became our blueprint... All we want to do is taste our fruit in our wine, so we charged our reigning winemaker, Mr. Ben Riggs, with one goal: to make the best wines we can, true to vineyard and variety, so long as we make a bloody good drink! “The truth is out there in the vineyard... but the proof is in the bottle” Cheers, from the entire crew at Zonte's Footstep!
