A golden yellow colour, with A full bodied wine with an elegant style. Pronounced ripe fruit, spicy aromatics and lots of complex Chardonnay flavours. Notes of ripe pear, fig, melon, citrus flavors and buttery nuances. Well blended, with good acidity and smooth tannins. A long satisfying finish, where the French oak and flavours are rich and concentrated.
The Vineyards are called De Slange Rivier (Serpent river) and was founded by French Huguenot Louis Fourie in 1699, land granted by Cape Governor Adriaan Van Der Stel. 84 Hectares under vine nestling on the high slopes of the Groenberg Mountain, Wellington District with sweeping views across to Table Mountain.
An elegant Chardonnay matured in French oak barrels with ripe pear, fig and citrus aromas. Well-balanced on the palate with vanilla flavours and a buttery mouthfeel. Full bodied with a lingering finish.
