In the heart of the Cathar country, in full Corbières appellation, the Château de Vaugelas covers 180 hectares of vines planted with Syrah, Carignan, centenaries Old Grenache and Mourvèdre. Manual harvesting and vinification in carbonic maceration gives this purple wine with violet hues, powerful aromas of cassis, violet and liquorice. An aging in oak barrels coats its tannins and gives it shades of spices and garrigue. Around 18degrees, it will accompany with refined red meats or in sauce, game and strong cheeses. Very nice now, it will retain its character around 6 years.
