VINEYARD

In the native language of Chile (mapudungun), the word Anun means “to put down roots”. With this name, our Vineyard pays tribute to all the indigenous communities that inhabited, settled and put down roots in Chile, because of its fertility, climate and great wealth of flora and fauna.

In Almahue, the place where most of our vines are found, the locals say that hundreds of years ago a plague devastated the population of farmers and it was the indigenous Picunche who saved them, thanks to a herbal based medicine. As a witness of this event, from our vineyards one can see on the side of a hill a large rock covered in bowls carved into the rock, where the indigenous people prepared their medicine.
